IIOCA Membership Rules and Regulations

  1. 1. Application Process:
    • a. Complete the membership application form available on the institute website.
    • b. Submit a detailed resume, including professional experience and qualifications.
    • c. Provide two professional references who can attest to the applicant’s integrity.
  2. 2. Membership Categories:
    • a. Student Member (M.STDT): Ideal for those currently studying towards a degree or certification in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising, or related fields. This membership offers access to invaluable resources, networking opportunities, and professional development events designed to enhance Academic learning and provide a solid foundation for a future career in communication auditing. Members are permitted to use M.STDT after their name within the Communications Auditing community.
    • b. Individual (Professional) Membership (M.PRO): Designed for working professionals passionate about communication auditing, this membership is ideal for those looking to enhance their skills, stay informed about industry trends, and network with peers. Members enjoy exclusive access to industry research, professional workshops, and certification programs that support career advancement. Members are permitted to use (M.PRO) after their name within the Communications Auditing community.
    • c. Corporate Membership (M.CORP) USD: Tailored for organizations that align with the mission and values of the International Institute of Communications Auditors, this membership enables corporate members to leverage the association’s resources to enhance their organizational processes and communication strategies. Benefits include access to specialized training for employees, participation in industry events, and opportunities to collaborate on research and best practices in communication auditing. Corporate Members are permitted to use (M.CORP) after their name within the Communications Auditing community.
  3. 3. IIOCA Code of Ethics:
    • a. Members must adhere to the IIOCA code of ethics which is separately available.
    • b. Members must commit to continuous professional development and stay updated with industry best practices.
  4. 4. Continuing Professional Development (CPD):
    • a. Members are required to maintain a minimum of 150 CPD points annually.
    • b. CPD points can be obtained and not limited to attending workshops, seminars, webinars, and relevant training programs
    • c. Members must submit an annual CPD report to the IIOCA for review.
    • d. CPD points will be updated to the membership profile as per the points allocated on the CPD table.
  5. 5. Membership Fees:
    • a. Membership fees are payable annually and must be settled by the due date.
    • b. Different fee structures apply for different membership categories.
    • c. Late payment of fees may result in suspension or termination of membership.
  6. 6. Disciplinary Procedures:
    • a. Any breach of the code of conduct or professional standards will be subject to investigation.
    • b. Disciplinary actions may include warnings, suspension, or termination of membership.
    • c. Members have the right to appeal disciplinary decisions within 30 days of notification.
  7. 7. Benefits of Membership:
    • a. Access to exclusive industry resources, research, and publications.
    • b. Opportunities for networking and professional growth through events and conferences.
    • c. Eligibility to participate in certification programs and earn professional designations.
  8. 8. Dispute Resolution
    • a. Negotiation: In the event of any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement, the parties shall first attempt to resolve the dispute through good faith negotiations.
    • b. Mediation: If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, the parties agree to submit the dispute to mediation, to be conducted by a mutually agreed-upon mediator.
    • c. Arbitration: If the dispute is not resolved through mediation within 30 days, the dispute shall be finally resolved by arbitration in accordance with the rules of the presiding jurisdiction/country of the Head Office of the IIOCA. The arbitration shall be conducted by one arbitrator(s) appointed in accordance with said rules. The place of arbitration shall be online. The language of the arbitration shall be in "English".
  9. 9. Governing Law: This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the presiding jurisdiction/country of the Head Office of the IIOCA.
  10. 10. Indemnification
    • a. Indemnification Each party (the "Indemnifying Party") agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the other party, its officers, Members, employees, and agents (collectively, the "Indemnified Party") from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees and costs) arising out of or in connection with any breach by the Indemnifying Party of its obligations under this Agreement or any negligent or wrongful act or omission by the Indemnifying Party in the performance of its obligations under this Agreement.
